  • Lawsuit against Fox put on hold - The complaint was filed by former employees of the auto body repair chain.
  • Assured Performance Announces 2008 Board of Directors - The members of the co-op voted last week to approve the slate of candidates for the Board.  In accordance with the co-op bylaws, the Board of Directors is exclusively body shops owners representing over 3,500 Qualified collision repair businesses across the entire U.S. that are official Members.

  • Business briefs: Allstate releases more documents - The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation confirmed Thursday it had received more subpoenaed documents from Allstate, including the so-called McKinsey report that details how the insurer saves money by paying less on auto claims.
  • What is the McKinsey report?: Allstate reportedly hired the McKinsey Company, a New York consulting firm, in the mid 1990’s to show the insurer how to increase their profits. McKinsey told them to avoid paying claims, and when they do pay – pay less. Allstate allegedly saved $700 million and increased their stock price at the same time after taking McKinsey’s advice.
