David and Mary Caracci Pledge $50,000 to University of the Aftermarket Foundation

BETHESDA, MD – March 20, 2006 – Aftermarket leader David Caracci and his wife Mary pledged $50,000 to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, making them Honorary Trustees. Their pledge is in support of Northwood University and in memory of Marilyn Schwartz, the late wife of Jarmms Associates' Mort Schwartz, past chairman of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA).

Chartered in 1986 as the AWDA University Foundation to provide funding for aftermarket education programs and research, the University of the Aftermarket Foundation has gained a reputation as the driving force behind business management education within the industry.

Interest earned on investments of foundation funds is used to fulfill grant requests to cover ongoing costs of developing innovative programming and effective delivery of course material, which benefits personnel in the automotive aftermarket.

David Caracci is current chairman of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and was recently named chairman of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation. He has more than 30 years of management, marketing, manufacturing and distribution experience in the global automotive aftermarket. His career has included positions within Dana Corporation, KSG Industries, ROL Manufacturing of America and Robert Bosch Corporation. He is a graduate of Northwood University. Mary Caracci is a graduate of the University of Toledo, with a degree in pharmacy.
