repeatedly in the last few weeks. Your BBB of Northern Indiana cautions
against Emails or phone calls your business may receive. We have
received an email this morning from a local business that was contacted
by a ‘Dr. Sherry Smith’ via a relay call because she was supposedly
“hearing impaired.” ‘Dr. Smith’ wanted her 2006 Ford Focus painted, and
was willing to put $1000 down using her credit card, but first wanted
the business to Western Union $820 to a shipping company.

Reader lauds BBB for TTL scam alert - I work at Sisk Auto Body in
Owings, Md., and I just wanted to say thank you for writing this
article. I received a call from “Dr. Smith” yesterday evening and I was
fairly sure that it was a business scam while I was talking to “her,”
but I was able to get her off the phone before giving in to her requests
by giving her my e-mail address.
